Various studies indicate a global decline in vaccination rates. On top of systemic immunization challenges, many attribute this downward trend to uncertainties around the Covid-19 vaccine response and strain on healthcare resources during this period (UNICEF). In 2022, WHO and UNICEF reported the largest sustained decrease in childhood vaccinations in around 30 years, calling for urgent action to strengthen disease prevention and global immunization efforts.
What does this mean for Southeast Asia and what support do our region’s doctors believe we need to tackle this vaccine crisis?
We asked 700+ doctors from our network and beyond, and these are the results…

Advancements in digital technology present an opportunity to democratize patient education for greater understanding on vaccine benefits and access.
Docquity’s patient support business, DocquityCare, has evolved to meet this need, leveraging data-driven, omnichannel solutions to drive stronger education, adherence and affordability around vaccines and other healthcare challenges.
In compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements, DocquityCare utilizes targeted educational websites, social media and call center services to ensure more patients obtain timely, trustworthy knowledge. These interactions then provide us with deeper patient insights to enhance communications and outcomes.
Beyond vaccine preventable diseases, DocquityCare provides patient solutions for cancer care, rare diseases and low adherence medications. With secure, tech-enabled solutions, we aim to increase patient support across Southeast Asia and beyond.
For several years, Docquity, Southeast Asia’s largest network of healthcare professionals (HCPs) – connecting three out of every four, has collected data on doctor practice habits, learning trends and communication preferences. Beyond the industry’s requirement for patient services, in 2024 we also studied doctor preferences on pharma engagements, learning methods and clinic digitization. Insights are collated based on online and offline surveys of doctors across the region and specialties. The objective is to inform a deeper understanding of healthcare needs in Southeast Asia, driving better industry interactions and patient outcomes.
