Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Database Administrator to join our
database team and take charge of maintaining, managing, setting up, and uploading data into
our databases. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database technologies, a
keen attention to detail, and the ability to ensure the smooth operation and performance of our
database systems. Additionally, this role will involve working closely with the sales teams to
ensure their compliance with the system and data-related processes.
Key Responsibilities:
A.Database Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance tasks, including monitoring
system performance, identifying and resolving issues, optimizing database performance,
and ensuring data integrity and security.
B.Database Management: Design, implement, and manage database systems to meet
the needs of new clients and their database structures.
C. Database Set Up: Collaborate with the Database Manager and other stakeholders to
plan, design, and set up new databases based on client’s project requirements. Ensure
proper configuration, scalability, integration with existing systems and reporting systems
D. Data Uploading: Efficiently upload, transform, and validate large sets of data from
various sources into the databases. Develop and maintain data upload processes,
ensuring accuracy and consistency.
E. Backup and Recovery: Implement backup and recovery procedures to safeguard data
against potential loss or corruption. Test and execute disaster recovery plans when
necessary.
F.Security and Compliance: Enforce security best practices to protect sensitive data.
Monitor access controls, user privileges, and data encryption. Ensure compliance with
relevant data protection regulations.
G. Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve database-related issues promptly. Provide
technical support to internal teams in debugging and resolving database-related
problems.
H. Sales Team Collaboration: Collaborate with the sales teams to understand their
territory data needs and requirements. Assist in the development and maintenance of
sales-related targeting processes and implementation.
I.Sales Team Compliance: Work closely with the sales teams to ensure their adherence
to database-related processes and protocols. Provide training and support to ensure
accurate and consistent data entry and usage.
J. Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation of database configurations,
maintenance procedures (SOP’s) , troubleshooting guides, and sales-related data
processes.
K. Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, network
administrators, system analysts, and sales teams, to ensure smooth data flow and
integration across systems.
Qualifications:
A.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or
equivalent work experience).
B. Proven work experience as a Database Administrator or in a similar role.
C. Proficiency in database management systems such as Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, or
PostgreSQL.
D. Strong understanding of database architecture, schema design, indexing, and
normalization.
E.Experience with data upload, transformation, and validation processes.
F. Familiarity with backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures.
G.Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues.
H. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical
teams.
I. Attention to detail and a commitment to ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
J. Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified Database Administrator, Oracle Certified
Professional) are a plus.
K. Experience with cloud-based database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database)
is a plus.
